A little help with the music.
You’ve probably got plenty of other things to organise. Here are the questions that help us plan the music with you: which parts of the day you want covered, the songs that matter, and what your venue can accommodate.
You don’t need to have every timing worked out before getting in touch. Tell us what you know, and we’ll help with the rest.
How early should you book our wedding band?

Popular Saturdays can disappear a long way ahead, particularly through spring and summer. Once the date and venue are fixed, asking early gives you more choice. If the wedding is closer, still ask: line-ups move around and we may have a very good option.
How big a band do you actually need?
Our core evening band has six performers: male and female lead vocals, guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. The eight-piece adds trumpet and sax for a bigger sound and more happening on stage.
Tell us about your venue, your guests and the music you enjoy, and we’ll recommend the lineup that fits.
Do we need a DJ as well?
If you’re happy with playlists around the live music, the two example packages cover the evening through to midnight. We’ll talk through the music for before, between and after the band.
If you want a DJ mixing live and taking requests, tell us when you enquire and we can discuss that separately.
Can you play our first dance?
Send us the exact version you love, with plenty of notice. If the song works for the lineup you’ve booked and we can do it justice, we’ll arrange and learn it. If the recording is the better choice, we’ll tell you so you can have the version you want.
What if our venue has a sound limiter?
Ask your venue for its noise limit, how it is measured and its music curfew, then send us the details. We’ll work through the setup with you and explain whether an electric kit, an ampless stage or our Silent Band would be appropriate.
The aim is to make the live music work within the venue’s rules. We’ll agree what is possible before the booking is finalised.
How long does the band play for?
Our usual evening booking is two 50-minute live sets, plus encores within the agreed finish. We’ll agree the set times around your plans. A third live set is available at an additional cost.
The two example packages include playlists before, between and after the evening band until midnight.
Can you cover the ceremony and drinks reception too?
Yes. We can arrange piano or live vocals for your ceremony, and either a jazz duo or an acoustic vocals-and-guitar duo for your drinks reception. Tell us which parts of the day you’d like covered, and we’ll put together the music and timings with you.
How much can we choose from the set list?
Start with the songs you love, the ones you’d rather avoid, and anything with a particular meaning for you. We’ll use that to shape the set together.
We keep the running order flexible so we can respond to your guests on the night. If something is filling the floor, we can stay with it; if the room changes, we can move with it. Your preferences give us the direction.
What happens if somebody is ill?
If someone is ill, we have a wider team of experienced musicians to call on. They know the songs, the arrangements and how the Biscuits work. We manage the replacement and keep you informed.
What are we actually paying for?
The booking covers the musicians, sound equipment, setup, preparation, arrangements and planning that go into the day, as well as the time we spend on stage. Your quote will set out the lineup, playing times, equipment, daytime coverage and any additional travel, so you can see what is included.
