About Us

Hi, I’m Chris - Chief Biscuit.

(That’s me in the hat)

Here’s a little bit about how we got here. From our very first gig to the dance floors we’ve filled since, every show has helped shape The Hot Jazz Biscuits into the band we are today.

    Intro

The core of the Hot Jazz Biscuits met whilst studying music at Uni. We played in loads of bands together; some good… some not so good.

It got to the point where I had just had to do it “proper”. Do an amazing job entertaining people and get paid for it. This was going to be my living as well as my passion.

Choosing band mates was easy - I had some super talented friends and we were close, both personally and musically. I put names and instruments into a spreadsheet (love a spreadsheet) and the stage was set.

We chose the name, and our professional lives as a Jazz and Swing Band began.

We landed a live music residency in a casino, playing Motown and Soul for their dinner dance nights. It was awesome.

Our party band was a success, and we used the lessons learned to move into providing live music for all settings of the wedding celebration.

We were playing jazz sets for drinks receptions, and then performing for the evening parties as well.

It was all about quality music and entertainment, giving our customers a day that they and their friends would talk about.

As great as a DJ can be, it’s rarely a talking point. The Hot Jazz Biscuits are here to put on a show.

My brother's best friend was getting married and wanted us to play. But word had gotten out and we were already booked. It was a nice problem to have.

With more musicians joining our roster, the answer was obvious - we ran a second band, so everybody would be happy..

At the groom’s request, we added a bunch of hip hop tunes, some garage classics and quirky pop tunes. The evening was a hit and we began offering a range of music styles to clients.

We started mixing songs togeether like a DJ would - we found we could fit more tunes in, delivering you even more value.

Today, we're a twenty-plus collective of like-minded musicians and firm friends; singing from the same song book, in the same key.

The bands are well-rehearsed, the set lists are bursting, and we're truly loving what we do. We play some of the best music ever written, up and down the UK, week-in-week-out. It’s the best job in the world!

Whether you want a Skiffle band for Christmas singalongs, a Rat Pack band for Vegas classics or a hard-hitting Party Pand, the Hot Jazz Biscuits can help.
