Shropshire / Wedding suppliers & venues

People we love working with.

A few of the people and places we know through weddings, gigs and our own celebrations. Here’s Chris on why they’re on the list.

Food & drink.

  • The Get Gourmet Catering team smiling together in a marquee.

    Get Gourmet Catering

    Wedding & event catering

I’ve known Charlie for about 25 years, since we worked together in a coffee shop. She’s an absolute machine, and it’s been brilliant seeing what she’s built with Get Gourmet. The food is fantastic, they’re properly organised, and they keep things on time. As a band, we really appreciate that.

  • Tim and Charlotte of Tipples smiling with their dog in front of Tipples branding.

    Tipples

Catering equipment & dry bar hire

I first met Tim when he was working behind the bar at the Albright Hussey, before he started Tipples. They even did the bar at my own wedding. These days, they are the go-to people in Shropshire for catering and event equipment hire. If you’re putting a wedding together and need to hire the practical stuff, Tim’s the man to talk to.

  • The Gindifferent bar at Shrewsbury Market Hall.

    Gindifferent

Gin bar & event bar hire

Darren and the Gindifferent team look after the bar for our Funky Good Times events. He really cares about what’s going into your glass, and we love that. Lovely people, proper enthusiasm for their drinks, and a team we’re very happy to work with.

Planning.

  • Jess of Jessica Laura Weddings holding a laptop beside her desk.

    Jessica Laura Weddings

    Wedding planning & coordination

Jess combines a really caring approach with the organisation a wedding needs. She also understands things from the band’s perspective, which makes her a pleasure to work with. Kind, diligent and properly on it.

Venues.

  • An aerial view of Moat Hall Barns and the surrounding Shropshire countryside.

    Moat Hall Barns

Wedding & events venue near Shrewsbury

One of our favourite venues for a wedding. The owners really care, and it’s a great place for a party band. There’s a covered outdoor area that works really well for afternoon music, followed by a proper party in the evening. And yes, getting our gear in is easy. That always earns a few bonus points from us.

  • Candlelit wedding tables beneath the timber beams at Pimhill Barn.

    Pimhill Barn

    Barn wedding venue near Shrewsbury

We’ve played at Pimhill loads, and it’s a firm favourite. A bloody great barn for a party, simple as that. If your idea of a good wedding evening involves a live band and plenty of dancing, it’s well worth a look.

  • The historic house, stone barns and grounds at The Courtyard Venue near Oswestry.

    The Courtyard

    Wedding venue near Oswestry

The Courtyard in Oswestry is stunning. We’ve played all-day weddings here, with jazz for the ceremony and an acoustic duo in the afternoon. A lovely setting for music throughout the day.

Film & video.

  • Aaron Child of Painted Life filming in a Shrewsbury coffee shop.

    Aaron Child — Painted Life

    Videography & filmmaking

Aaron is the man behind a lot of our favourite band videos. He films our public gigs and is a proper technical geek, in the best possible sense. We’ve also played his mum’s and his sister’s weddings. A brilliant videographer and a very good bloke.

Sound & equipment.

  • Callum Jones of Pro Audio Services smiling behind a mixing console.

    Pro Audio Services

PA & equipment hire, including dry hire

Callum and Boo are our go-to people for PA and equipment hire. We use them for all our public gigs, they supplied the kit for my own wedding, and we played at theirs. That probably tells you how much we trust them. If you need to hire gear for an event, these are the people we’d call.
